Pride Marine - Unclear on the concept!

My wife, my daughter and I have been faithful attendees of the Preview Night at the Toronto Boat Show for over 10 years. This year, the show was hardly worth the expense of our Platinum tickets ($100), in spite of providing entertainment, very good food and refreshments, as well as a lot of small to medium size boats to view, which would be of interest if you own a cottage, love fishing or if you are looking for a Day Boat. But thanks to Pride Marine, the show ended up not being of great value to us. We are boaters who own a larger Motor Yatch in the Thousand Islands - so are our friends who came to the show with us. Our interest in the Boat Show was in large motor yachts. This is where Pride Marine proved to be unclear on the concept of a boat show. Because it is such a large dealer, I did have a number of larger boats of interest to us. However, Pride decided to restrict extremely the access to its boats, even on the Preview Night, which is supposed to be about no line ups and easy access. They claimed that the viewings of the largest boats were on appointments only. When we tried to make appointments at their booth, only 25 minutes after the show opened, were told there were no spots left for us to view their boats, unless we were seriously interested in buying a boat that night. We managed nevertheless to see one of their bigger boats, but only to be faced with a very aggressive and unpleasant salesman, who yelled at us asking what we were doing on his boat, after we boarded “on the invitation of” another member of their staff. Pride treated the boat show like a “show room”, not like a “boat show”! No other dealers have ever done that to us! I did not pay $100/person for a boat show that does not provide access to the boats on display, or to be treated the way my wife, my daughter, my friends and I were treated by Pride Marine. Pride is a very large and aggressive boat dealer, which would be difficult to avoid if you are on the market. But beware!!!
